K-12 Public Schools
The Jackson-Madison County School system is a Level 5 District comprised of 26 elementary, middle and high schools. With 16 schools being designated Level 4 or Level 5 by the Tennessee Department of Education, three new schools recently built, local college and university partnerships, early college high associate degree options and work-based learning and industry certifications, our public schools are providing quality education to students. From elementary through high school, Jackson-Madison County School System works to meet the needs of every student.

Private Schools
While our local public school system has amazing success, Jackson’s private schools provide options for a different learning environment ideal for some students. Currently, our community offers diverse private school options ranging from preparatory and faith-based models to a unique, classical curriculum that spans elementary school through high school.

Public and private. Big and small. Four-year, community and technical schools. With seven local colleges and universities, Jackson is very much a thriving city with a focus on higher education. Over 11,000 students each year choose Jackson to pursue academic paths from liberal arts and business to engineering, architecture, medicine, science and theology. Our wide array of undergraduate, graduate and continuing education programs make it easy to access a lifelong education.
